THE REPRODUCTIVE SEASON 2005 IS OVER...
All the pairs followed by the birdcams have successfully fledged their chicks. Overall, 16 chicks were raised under the cams, two (Nuvola-cloud and Fierobecco-bravebeak) from a pair of peregrines (Aria-air and Vento-wind) which, for the fisrt time after 30 years, have bred again in Rome. The two chicks now are somewhere busy with their first hunting experiences and only Vento can be seen from time to time near the nest.
The kestrel chicks born from the three pairs have also all succeffully fledged but a bit later than peregrines. All birds have been ringed and named with the names suggested by the many aficionados of the site.
This year we also activated a blog which received more than 10.000 visits and has put in contact many people sharing the same love for wildlife and birds, in particular.
The birdcams are now switched-off and show an image taken from each of the nest sites. The birdcams will be activated again on the next breeding season.
